Following an article in the Guardian newspaper in 2008 we started volunteer weekends. In addition we organise a few other ‘job weekends’ for volunteers to come and help us and get some fresh air. Our aim is to make the weekend enjoyable as well as giving you an insight into the making of cider and perry. Everyone who came last year thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Hopefully, we can offer a similar experience to you. www.guardian.co.uk/travel/2008/aug/17/travelfoodanddrink.camping Similar articles appeared in the Times (CLICK HERE) and the Telegraph (CLICK HERE). Click as appropriate to read the articles. The outline for the weekend is:
Saturday to Sunday – ideally on site by 10 a.m. Saturday
Minimum of 2 per weekend and a maximum of 12 people Bring waterproofs and wellies – old waterproofs – they may get damaged under the trees! It could be cold and wet! Activities are obviously weather dependent. We offer: Free camping. We have a toilet block which includes a ladies shower and a gents shower. If you think it is too cold to camp you can try Hilary and John who run the farmhouse as a B&B at www.broomefarmhouse.co.uk. If they are full, for alternative B&Bs try www.wyenot.com. A simple lunch on Saturday. A cider tasting experience. Any queries please email us.
